I guess our “natural ” journey started when we found out we were going to have our first child. We lived in Florida at the time, far away from where we grew up. As we went for our first check up nervousness, anxiousness and all sorts of feelings flooded our minds. Words can not describe the feelings that flowed through me as I heard her heartbeat for the first time. Tears came to my eyes as my mind couldn’t help but wonder back to when I was a young boy. All I wanted was to be a Daddy and finally it was here.
We wanted nothing but the best for a growing little girl and we decided that no matter what we’d give her that chance. We sought out a birth center and landed on one located in Hollywood , Fl. During our first visit we met many of their wonderful staff but I was nervous as this was all too different from how I grew up. As the months went by we began to become more and more comfortable with everyone and I found a peace with our direction. We learned many things that we wanted to do and not do while raising our child and most were not traditional practices at all. I say most but really none of them were. What would our family and friends think about these very non-traditional practices that we would use. We made up our minds that we wouldn’t let this bother us or stand in the way of our vision. We would do what we thought and felt was right by our little girl.
